For the 2020 yearGMC has not onlyexpanded the lineup of its flagship model Acadia series, but has also dressed up in a new garb of styling as well as introducing a new engine to the lineup.
As gathered from the Watsonville GMC dealership staff, the 2020 GMC Acadia got the following features upgraded for the 2020 year lineup.
Powertrain Options for 2020
The 2020 GMC Acadia falls under the category of a three-row crossover SUV that now boasts of a vibrant line of engine choices. The 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine making 230-horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque got newly introduced to the lineup. It is placed in between the base 2.5-liter inline-4 one rated at 193-hp and the upgraded optional 3.6-liter V-6 engine cranking 310-hp.
The 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine is set as the standard power source for the 2020 Acadia SLT and Denali trim models, while the base inline-4 is used to power the SL and SLE. On the range topping AT4 trim models the V-6 engine is installed as the standard powertrain component.
Regardless of the engine capacity loaded under the hood, all the 2020 GMC Acadia models are given a 9-speed automatic transmission to relay the engine power to the concerned wheels replacing the last year’s standard 6-speed automatic one. The new transmission comes with stop/start system to improve the fuel economy rates of the entire lineup.
GMC announced that the suspension tweaks used on all 2020 Acadia models is to improve the handling that will eventually enhance the ride quality.
Enhanced Styling Features
Outside, the 2020 year updates have given the Acadia series models a pair of new LED headlights. The front grille too has been redesignedto bring about a boxier look in comparison to the last year’s model. The body frame of the 2020 edition of GMC Acadia has been stretched to 194 inches from bumper to bumper, allotting more room for the cabin. The new range topping 2020 Acadia AT4 models are now painted in dark exterior colors while all-terrain tires are wrapped around the 17-inch alloy wheels, as the standard setting, while 20-inch wheels are offered as optional.
All the 2020 Acadia models now feature new exterior mirrors that work in tune with integrated LED turn signals, while a power liftgate is added on the SLT, AT4, and Denali trim models projecting the GMC logo on the ground during nighttime drives.
Interior Feature Upgrades
Inside, all the 2020 GMC Acadia models receive a new set of features replacing the earlier ones. They include a new infotainment software, an 8.0-inch touchscreen anda button setup.The Denali trim is now painted in a new interior color scheme with blue-hued dashboard and open-pore wood trim ditching the last seen faux wood trim.
A high-resolution rearview camera is now offeredas optional on SLE and standard on SLT and higher trim levels. On the Acadia Denali, a new rearview mirror and a high-resolution camera offered as optional.
All the GMC dealers near Watsonville opined that with these new feature options, the 2020 GMC Acadia has stepped higher in the scale of its segment.
